Skagit Symphony gala concert hosts Whidbey Island violinist at McIntyre Hall

For its gala concert of 2014-2015 season, the Skagit Symphony presents young Whidbey Islander Gloria Ferry-Brennan on violin performing the teenage Mozart’s D major concerto, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Skagit Valley College’s McIntyre Hall, 2501 E. College Way, in Mount Vernon.

The concert takes the audience to places familiar and imagined — Coates’ “London Suite” and Howard Shore’s music of the mystical “The Lord of the Rings.” Also on the program is a slice of French life as portrayed in the beloved “American in Paris” by the American treasure George Gershwin.

Tickets are $20. Reserve at 360-416-7727, mcintyrehall.org.
