Coty Hogue performs a little blues, a pinch of swing, and original songs at Roeder Home

Coty Hogue plays banjo and guitar and, accompanied by Aaron Guest on 12-string guitar and Kat Bula on fiddle, sings songs that runs the gamut of American roots music — a little blues, a pinch of swing, a spoonful of classic Opry, and a healthy dose of originals — at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Roeder Home, 2600 Sunset Drive (at Broadway).

Her rendition of the traditional song “Going to the West” charted No. 1 on the folk-DJ radio charts, and another, “Oh Wind” is featured in the independent film “Neon Sky.”

The concert is hosted by the Homemade Music Society and by Whatcom Family & Community Network. Suggested donation: $8 to $15. More on her music at cotyhogue.com.
