The Two Gentlemen Band plays swing tunes Oct.25 at The Green Frog

Swinging Americana cult favorites The Two Man Gentlemen Band — Andy Bean (guitar, banjo, mandolin, vocals) and Fuller Condon (upright bass, vocals) — perform from their new album, “Enthusiastic Attempts at Hot Swing & String Band Favorites,” their first collection of tunes from the American jazz and string band songbook, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at The Green Frog, 1015 N. State St.

Recorded live to monophonic tape using a single vintage RCA microphone, The Gents cheerfully zip through Tin Pan Alley tunes, banjo breakdowns, easy swingers and mandolin rags made famous by the likes of Bob Wills, Slim & Slam, Red Nichols and Cliff Edwards, along with a handful of delightfully revived obscurities.
