Bellingham writer Royce Buckingham launches his first teen fiction book “The Terminals” with reading at Village Books

Bellingham writer Royce Buckingham launches his first teen fiction book “The Terminals” with a reading at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Village Books, 1200 11th St.

“The Terminals” focuses on 19-year-old Cam Cody, who’s recruited with other teens suffering from terminal illnesses to be part of an elite commando unit with medically enhanced abilities.

Buckingham said for his Village Books event he’ll read a passage from the new book and discuss some of its themes.

Buckingham is the author of “Demonkeeper,” a Seattle-based fantasy for middle readers that explored the plight of homeless youth and “Dead Boys,” a supernatural thriller set in Richland that just won the 2014 Sasquatch Award from the Washington Library Media Association.
