Iconic bands The Melvins and Le Butcherettes play the Wild Buffalo Oct. 17

The Melvins, now in their 25th year, perform in support of their new album, “Hold It In,” at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St.

The album pairs band members King Buzzo and almost-founding member Dale Crover, with musical pals Paul Leary and JD Pinkus, and it’s one of the band’s most melodic outings. The Melvins have toured with KISS, White Zombie, NIN, L7, Primus, Tool and Rush, among others, and were on the Ozzfest tour in 1998.

Opening is the gender-bending duo Le Butcherettes, who just released their album “Cry Is For The Flies.” Cover is $15; reserve at wildbuffalo.net.
