iDiOM Theater in Bellingham present monumental production of Sophocles’ seven tragedies

The iDiOM Theater, 1418 Cornwall Ave., presents “These Seven Sicknesses,” playwright and director Sean Graney’s epic undertaking of staging all seven surviving Sophocles tragedies performed in one evening, opening at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, and playing through Nov. 2. With a 4.5-hour running time, the production is not for the faint of heart.

The cast becomes hosts for an evening that includes two intermissions, dinner and dessert. The audience is welcomed to the theater in the tradition of ancient Greek hospitality, and is taken care of throughout the long evening. Admission varies from $25 to $50, with reservations at idiomtheater.com or 360-305-3524.
