The first full Whatcom Symphony Orchestra concert of the season, “Romance at the Piano,” features renowned pianist Spencer Myer performing Chopin’s lush second Piano Concerto at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Mount Baker Theatre, 104 N. Commercial St.

Myer is a Juilliard-trained soloist and the recipient of multiple gold medal awards, including the 2008 New Orleans International Piano Competition. His performance will be complemented by the orchestra as it completes the program with Brahms’ powerful Second Symphony.
