South King County author and historian, Karen Meador presents a talk, “A Lasting Legacy: The Fort Steilacoom to Fort Bellingham Military Road,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Whatcom Museum’s Old City Hall, 121 Prospect St. One of the Northwest’s oldest and most significant roads, the Fort Steilacoom to Fort Bellingham Road was part of a military network built on the eve of the Civil War.
