The Silent Comedy brings its mix of Americana, folk and rock to Bellingham’s Wild Buffalo

The Silent Comedy is a San Diego group of musicians that mixes Americana, folk and rock n’ roll.

Brothers Joshua and Jeremiah Zimmerman started the band to capture the feeling of the bar culture they worked in and the revival meetings they grew up attending. The outcome is an experience that has been described as “a whiskey tent revival.”

The brothers’ father was a preacher who sold everything the family owned to travel the world, an experience that shapes the lyrics and DIY ethic of the group. The band is made up of Joshua (bass and vocals) and Jeremiah Zimmerman (keys, vocals, and guitar) together with their cousin Chad Lee (drums) and long-time friend Justin Buchanan (mandolin and banjo).

They perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at the Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St.

Cover is $8 advance, $10 at the door.
