Oktoberfest festival Sept. 19 benefits Bellingham’s Volunteer Center

Bellingham’s Oktoberfest offers more than 60 German and autumn-style beers to taste from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Depot Market Square, 1100 Railroad Ave.

The festival, held in collaboration with Bellingham Beer Week, features bratwurst from Copper Hog, Paella Works StrEAT Food and others eateries, plus live German music, costume contests and Bavarian entertainment. Proceeds benefit the Volunteer Center of Whatcom County.

People who attend will receive an Oktoberfest tasting glass, five tasting tickets and snacks. Additional beer tickets can be purchased inside the event.

Tickets, $20, are at Boundary Bay Brewery, Kulshan Brewery, Chuckanut Brewery, Elizabeth Station, Village Books and both Community Food Co-ops.
