Two Whatcom County events will honor the International Day of Peace, which falls on Sunday, Sept. 21.
At 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, World Peace Pots Bellingham will present “Read In! Write On! for Peace” at Saint James Presbyterian Church, 910 14th St. Poets, writers and musicians will perform at the free event. Donations are appreciated. Details: 360-961-2320.
At 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, Whatcom Peace & Justice Center will host a family-friendly event at The Majestic, 1027 N. Forest St., with food trucks, informational tables, a peace-theme improv performance by The Upfront Theatre, announcement of this year’s Howard Harris Lifetime Peacemaker Award, and dancing until 10 p.m. with The Walrus and Snug Harbor.
