What brought the band together and when?: I (Yogoman) brought the band together in the spirit of diversity that Bellingham possesses musically. Bringing people of divergent musical backgrounds and interests together to make a rhythmic dance band that cultivates community (people of all-ages and backgrounds) through dance is what I aim to do. Who: Our local and global community and Prince Pauper, Sam Cooke, Roy Shirley, Slim Smith, Talib Kweli, David Isaacs, Behead the Prophet No Lord Shall Live, GNS, Karp, the Meters, Fats Domino, Derrick Morgan, ESG, MC5, John Coltrane, Elvin Jones, Sun Ra, Michael Griffen, Noggin, Second Line brass bands, the Clash, NY Jimmy.
Where have you toured?: Subdued Stringband Jamboree (Deming, WA) '07, Summer Meltdown (Darrington, WA) '07, Missoula Montana for Totalfest '07, Seattle, Yakima, Portland, North Bend/Coos Bay, Arcata, Sacremento, San Francisco, Santa Cruz. Going down the west coast again this September '08.
How many albums have you released?: *Self titled debut album ( July 2007). *Pass the O/Dragon Bus 45rpm 7" Single (spring 2008) *Have one in the bag and due for release by Summer/Fall '08.
Where do you see your band going in the future?: Around the World, England, Africa, Europe, Netherlands, Jamaica, Around the U.S.A., anywhere people like to have fun.
What are the highs and lows in your band's history?: We only get high!!!Really, the only lows are losing people from the band that I love playing with because they move out of the area. But that is just part of being in Bellingham. It's not for everyone.
You're stuck on a deserted island and forced to listen to one album for eternity. What album would you pick?: the Kampala Sound: 1960's Ugandan Dance Music
