TACOMA — For the second straight year, Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club pro Jeff Coston has qualified for the U.S. Senior Open.
Coston shot a 2-under 70 on Monday during a qualifier at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club to finish in a three-way tie for second — the qualifier only sends two to the open — and then won the spot in the U.S. Senior Open with a par on the par-4 second hole.
The Senior Open will be July 31-Aug. 3 at the Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Coston played in last year’s U.S. Senior Open at Whistling Straights in Sheboygan, Wis., and finished tied for 33rd.
