Andrei Lintz, an all-state football and basketball player and state shot put champion for Meridian High School, will be on the sidelines for the next few weeks.

According to the Yakima Herald- Republic Web site, Lintz fractured his fibula on Thursday in Yakima during a practice for the Earl Barden All-Star Football Classic, the Class 1A/2A allstate football game that was held Saturday at Zaepfel Stadium.

The fibula is the thin outer bone running from the ankle to the knee. Lintz, who has signed to play football at Washington State next season, is expected to miss nearly four weeks.

Also on the West roster are Brady Bomber, Ryan Gaylord and Tom Van Boven of Lynden, Meridian’s Sean Hurlbut, and Lynden Christian’s Brian Hughes.
