The Ferndale softball team overcame an early deficit and defeated Blaine 8-4 on Tuesday at Ferndale.
The Borderites scored two in the top of the first inning to take the lead, but the Golden Eagles bounced back with one in the of the second and three in the third and never gave back the lead.
Hannah Kranz struck out 13 in seven innings to earn the win for Ferndale.
Cassie Arestad was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI to lead the Golden Eagles, Alainah Hendrickx was 3 for 4 with a RBI and Tharyn Richards was 2 for 3.
Samantha Wallace was 2 for 3, Molly Dudley was 2 for 4 with a RBI and Caitlin Dudley was 2 for 4.
