Record-setter
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has been battered this season, but against the Lions, he completed 39 passes and in the process surpassed Dave Krieg’s franchise record of 2,096 career completions. Grade: good

The Heater
Fans engaged in some handwringing when Pro Bowl LB Lofa Tatupu was lost for the season with an injury, but replacement David Hawthorne has been a pleasant surprise, coming up with two interceptions against the Lions. Grade: good

Pickoffs
The Seahawks’ three interceptions in the first seven games were tied for the lowest total in the NFL. Sunday, they stung rookie Lions quarterback Matt Stafford with five picks. Grade: good

Justin time
Running back Justin Forsett provided a spark for the offense, catching five passes for 45 yards and also returning a kickoff for 46 yards. His lone rush, for 14 yards, was the longest ground gain of the day. Grade: good

Awful start
With two turnovers on the first two plays, the Seahawks fell behind 17-0. It’s been a chronic issue for the Seahawks, who have been outscored 55-16 in first quarters this season.Grade: bad

Altered plans
After falling behind, the Hawks decided to scrap their ineffective rushing attack and start winging the ball. The result was 52 passes, including one creative completion by backup QB Seneca Wallace, who had lined up as a receiver. Grade: good
