COWBOYS STADIUM

This $1.2 billion football palace looks like a space station set down on the prairie. It’s not as gaudy as you might expect, and the 53-yard-wide video screen is indescribable. This is football for the 21st century.

EARLY OFFENSE

The Hawks’ scheme looked solid at the start, using some wildcat formations and quick screens. It reduced quarterback Matt Hasselbeck’s vulnerability to the rush by getting the football out of his hands.

FORSETT’S FUMBLE

After inexcusably fielding a punt just 4 yards from his own end zone, running back Justin Forsett lost a fumble that led to an early Dallas score. The Hawks don’t have much margin for error, and giving an opponent a short field is a real boo-boo.

NO PRESSURE

When the outcome of the game was still in question, the Seahawks got almost no pressure on Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Romo threw for three touchdowns and put together a 108.1 passer rating.

BIG LOSSES

Other than the 25-19 loss to Chicago at home, the Seahawks have been blown out in their losses. The Seahawks have been outscored by 71 point In their five losses, an average of two touchdowns a game.

BRING ON THE LIONS

For a struggling Seahawks team, nothing is a gimme, but the 1-6 Lions come to Qwest Field next Sunday. After that come three straight road games: at Arizona, Minnesota and St. Louis.
