With three more days left in the current razor clam dig, the state has already announced tentative dates for digs through February.
The new schedule proposes six more days of digging during the first week in January and three more multi-day digs through February. The proposed upcoming digs include dates when students are out of school, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents Day.
“We’re announcing these dates now so people can start making plans for the New Year,” said Dan Ayres, coastal shellfish manager for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife. “We’ve had a terrific season so far and expect plenty of great digging in the months ahead.”
The remaining dates, low tide information and locations in the current dig are Sunday (Dec. 7), 7:05 p.m., -0.9 feet, Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks; Monday, 7:44 p.m., -0.6 feet, Long Beach, Twin Harbors; and Tuesday, 8:21 pm, -0.2 feet, Long Beach, Twin Harbors
