Children will have the chance to explore the treetop environment during the second annual Kids Canopy Climb on Aug. 2 in Olympia.
Organized by Olympia Park, Arts and Recreation, the climb will allow participants to learn about forest ecosystems, including taking care of newly planted trees. The program is meant for children ages 6-12.
Climbers will be guided by certified arborists and technical staff from the city of Olympia. Because of the nature of the event, each participant must agree to follow the instructions given and be accompanied by a parent/guardian, according to a department news release. Participants must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes for the climb.
The event will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Priest Point Park, Kitchen Shelter No. 3, 2600 East Bay Drive NE, Olympia.
Never miss a local story.
The cost is $32 per child.
