Bellingham’s Jake Koppenberg finished just 3 strokes behind at the Sixth Annual Washington State Golf Association Champion of Champions golf tournament on Tuesday, April 28, at the Home Course in DuPont.
Koppenberg had a two-round total of 142 (70-72), which put him alone in fourth place behind men’s winner Mike Haack of Bellevue, who won his third straight title and fourth overall with a 139.
Bellingham’s Craig Roth shot a 144 (72-72) to tie for sixth, while Cody Roth was 1 stroke back in a tie for 11th.
The field was made up of 90 champions from around the state. Tukwila’s Leslie Folsom (153) won the women’s title, Mercer Island’s Pete Higgins (138) claimed the senior men’s title and East Wenatchee’s Karen Madison (159) won the senior women’s crown.
