Bellingham’s boys’ soccer team was able to come out with a 0-0 tie against Anacortes on Friday, March 20, at Northwest Fields.
The Red Raiders were outshot by the Seahawks, but with the help of goalkeeper Joe Worley, the team was able to prevent an Anacortes goal.
“It was a tough game to play in. Anacortes outworked us throughout the game and outshot us,” Bellingham coach Matt Zigulis said in a phone interview. “We were really grateful to have an awesome performance from Joe Worley. He stepped up and made amazing saves throughout the game to keep us in it.”
Zigulis mentioned it wasn’t the best game of the season for the Red Raiders and he credited Anacortes for keeping the team on its toes with the counter attack.

Bellingham will play its first league game against Sehome next at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Civic Stadium.
