Bianca Rodriguez scored two goals and Blaine’s girls’ soccer team defeated Anacortes 3-1 in a Northwest Conference matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Pipeline Fields.
Rodriguez opened scoring in the 22nd minute and scored the final goal to put the game out of the Seahawks’ reach in the 64th minute. Emily Roe added a goal and an assist, and Ashley Quesada had two assists.
“They just decided to win and went out and did it,” Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview. “People were working hard. It was great to see our team do that. Bianca, we moved her to the outside midfield and it was nice to see her out there. She was able to use her foot speed down the wings.”
Blaine will look for another win on Thursday, Oct. 23, at Nooksack Valley.
