Tori VandeHoef scored twice, but Sedro-Woolley’s offense was too much for Nooksack Valley as the Pioneers suffered a 9-2 Northwest Conference loss on Thursday, Oct. 16, at Sedro-Woolley.
VandeHoef scored her first goal after she stole the ball from a Cubs’ defender and beat the keeper in a one-on-one. Her second goal came on a give-and-go combination with Jasmine San Juan.
“Jasmine came in as a sub in the second half, and as soon as I subbed her in she wanted to stay in so she gave everything she had,” Nooksack Valley coach Valentin Villalobos said in a phone interview. “Tori had a couple of runs, but we were unlucky that they were right at the keeper.”
Sedro-Woolley moved the ball quickly and kept trying to go over the top of the defense with long passes, Villalobos said.
Never miss a local story.
Nooksack Valley will look to bounce back on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Lynden Christian.
