Bellingham’s girls’ soccer team held on after a first-half goal to top Burlington-Edison 1-0 in a Northwest Conference matchup Tuedsday, Oct. 7, at at Civic Stadium.
Hattie North had the goal for Bellingham in her first game back from injury. She scored on a Paige McAtee corner kick, Bellingham’s third of the game, which North chested in for the goal.
Chloe Campbell preserved the shutout for Bellingham with four saves, including a key stop on a late corner kick, coach Mark Wright said.
“Burlington has an amazing player in Edie Breckenridge, and we have our ‘Neutralizer’ Emma Brice, who did another unbelievable job with her tonight,” Wright said in a phone interview. “Since losing our first five games we’ve been playing superior defense and keeping games clean in the back.”
