Squalicum’s girls’ soccer team remained unbeaten, claiming an 8-0 Northwest Conference victory over Mount Baker on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Kim Hazlett quickly added to her league lead in goals, which now sits at 15, scoring the Storm’s first three before Kim Dorr added three of her own, all of which came in the first 30 minutes of the game.
“It took us a while to find our rhythm up front,” Squalicum coach David Kish said in a phone interview. “Baker played really strong defense. It took us a while to figure out what was going to work for us.”
Julia DeVere and Payton Fowler rounded out Squalicum’s scoring effort. Michelle Saunders added three assists of her own.
Squalicum (9-0-0, NWC 5-0-0) travels to Lynden Christian on Thursday, Oct. 2. Mount Baker (0-6-2, 0-4-0) will play host to Burlington-Edison the same day.
