Squalicum’s girls’ soccer team wasted little time in jumping on Anacortes, scoring three times in the first 23 minutes to cruise to a 6-0 victory Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Anacortes in a Northwest Conference matchup.
Payton Fowler got the offensive onslaught started with a goal in the fifth minute, Kim Dorr adding one in the 10th and Kim Hazlett in the 23rd.
“We wanted to come out firing on all cylinders,” Squalicum coach David Kish said in a phone interview. “The girls were passing so well today, right from the back and all the way forward.”
The connected offense led to three more goals in the second half, Hazlett scoring her second in the 53rd, Jessica DeVere in the 62nd and Dorr again in the 75th. Jackie Dierdorff added two assists as the Storm recorded 25 shots on goal to the Seahawks’ one.
Squalicum (7-0-0, NWC 3-0-0) puts its undefeated record on the line against Blaine on Thursday, Sept. 25, at Pipeline Field.
