Sehome’s girls’ soccer team and Burlington-Edison battled to a 1-1 tie in a Northwest Conference game on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Burlington-Edison.
Edie Breckenridge opened scoring for Burlington-Edison in the 20th minute on an unassisted goal. Stephanie Mindnich made sure Sehome got on the board with a goal in the 63rd minute, off an assist by Abby Webster.
“I thought it was a pretty evenly matched game,” Sehome coach Andria Fountain said in a phone interview. “Both teams had opportunities and both teams took advantage of one of those opportunities.”
Sehome goalkeeper Nicole Carlson had seven saves to keep the Mariners in the game. The Tigers and Mariners registered eight shots each.
“Edie can be challenging, but Nicole Carlson made some spectacular saves to keep us in the game,” Fountain said.
Sehome takes on Mount Baker next at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Civic Stadium.
