Blaine’s girls’ soccer team couldn’t keep up with a high-powered Granite Falls squad, as the Borderites fell 6-1 on Saturday, Sept. 20, at pipeline Fields.
The Borderites got down 1-0 in the first two minutes before Gretchen Kordas evened the score in the 18th minute.
“It was great leadership from Gretchen,” Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview. “She sailed it right over the keeper who came out to grab it. It was a great finish on a great opportunity.”
Granite falls went on to score five unanswered goals.
“I felt like we didn’t come out as strong as we could have,” Tuski said. “Granite falls passed circles around us.”
Blaine faces Lynden on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Pipeline Fields.
