Tori VandeHoef scored four goals, but Nooksack Valley’s girls’ soccer team took an 11-4 loss to Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference game Thursday, Sept. 18, at Nooksack Valley Elementary.
The Tigers were leading 8-1 at halftime, with VandeHoef’s first goal being the only bright spot for the Pioneers. She was assisted by Brittany Passe on the 30th minute goal.
“The last couple of games have been really hard because we are still low on players, but we should be good to go on Saturday and Tuesday,” Nooksack Valley coach Valentin Villalobos said in a phone interview. “Tori is doing awesome. She’s pressuring and giving everything she’s got. Today we had Payton (Linville) come back from injury and they did a great job on top with the give-and-go. They worked really well together.”
VandeHoef scored another three goals to open the second half. She was assisted by Payton Linville in the 41st and 49th minute, and by Passe in the 45th.
“It’s really hard for a small school like us, but the girls didn’t give up,” Villalobos said.
Nooksack Valley will look for a win against Lynden at noon, Saturday, Sept. 20, at Nooksack Valley Elementary.
