Lummi’s boys’ basketball team ran away with an easy 80-18 win over Muckleshoot Tribal on Monday, Dec. 29, at Muckleshoot Tribal.
Willie Jones led the Blackhawks with 21 points, Trazil Lane contributed 18 and Austin Brockie and Jacob Roberts each had 13.
“We had a week off, so I was kind of concerned with how they’d play, but the boys came ready to play tonight,” Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. “Tonight the boys got it going right from tipoff. Willie Jones had a great game tonight. He shot the ball extremely well and the players were being unselfish in finding him.”
Muckleshoot Tribal shot just 7 of 51 from the field, compared to 34-of-49 shooting for Lummi. The Blackhawks grabbed 18 steals.
Lummi will look to continue its dominant play at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at home against Orcas Christian.
