Sydney Arndorfer scored 16 points, Chalae Wolters added nine points and a team-high 13 rebounds, and Squalicum’s girls’ basketball team cruised to a 62-27 win over Chimacum on Saturday, Dec. 27, at the Crush in the Slush Tournament in Port Townsend.
“Basically we had a really crummy game last night against Friday Harbor and I thought we came back today and responded really well,” Squalicum coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. “Arndorfer played really well for us today. She was invested in the game right from the beginning. She got the basket, got to the line, I think she was 10 of 14 from the free throw line and last night we were abysmal from the line. She was the leader on the floor.”
Arndorfer also had seven rebounds.
Squalicum committed 27 turnovers, but forced 32 from Chimacum. The Storm also won the rebounding battle 59-38.
Squalicum plays next at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Ferndale.
