Lynden Christian’s softball team suffered a 13-3 loss in six innings to Sedro-Woolley in a Northwest Conference game on Thursday, May 7, at Sedro-Woolley’s Janicki Fields.
The loss came as a result of 10 errors committed by the Lyncs.
They were able to extend the game and keep their own hopes alive with three runs in the top of the fifth. Avery Dykstra was 1 for 2 with a run scored, and Jenah Korthuis was 1 for 2.
“It was 10-0 and they could have easily said it was over and given up, but they competed and extended the game for a few innings,” Lynden Christian coach Mitch Moorlag said in a phone interview. “We just didn’t bring our gloves today. There were a few grounders we should have had and throws we should have made.”
Lynden Christian gets a chance to hone its defense in a nonconference game at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, at home against Burlington-Edison.
