Meridian’s baseball team defeated Mount Baker 8-3 on Wednesday, May 6, at Mount Baker High School.
Dalton Biehle earned the win for the Trojans and Colton Ranson received the loss for the Mountaineers.
“We knew we were going to have a chance with Ranson on the hill,” Mount Baker coach Derek Johnson said in a phone interview. “He was dealing early and we played solid defense early on. We just started committing errors late in the game.”
Mount Baker committed seven errors in the game. Meridian’s Biehle went 2 for 5 with two runs scored, Tanner Tutterrow went 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBI and Devyn Holmes went 1 for 4 with an RBI. Chad Cohn went 2 for 3 with two RBI, Ranson went 1 for 3 with a run and Kolton Zender went 1 for 3 to lead the Mountaineers at the plate.
Meridian will take on King’s next at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Joe Martin Field. Mount Baker’s season is finished.
