Connor Sage earned his sixth win of the season on the mound as Squalicum’s baseball team defeated Lynden 3-1 on Wednesday, May 6, at Joe Martin Field.
“Connor was really, really tough,” Squalicum coach John Inge said in a phone interview. “He kept battling and pitched to contact. Our defense was so solid today.”
Ernie Yake went 2 for 2 with a run scored and two stolen bases. Tim Lann went 1 for 2 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base. Kyle Little went 1 for 2 with a run and Michael Guerrero went 2 for 3 with a run to lead the Storm at the plate.
The Lions’ Rylan Seversen received the loss. Dalton Ohligschlager went 1 for 3 with an RBI and Jacob Hommes went 1 for 2 with a run.
Squalicum’s next game will be in the Class 2A Northwest District tournament at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 9. Lynden’s season is finished.
