Lynden’s baseball team gave up 14 hits in a 9-0 Northwest Conference loss to Anacortes on Thursday, April 30, at Lynden.
The Lions had four hits in the contest, as Jared House, Carson Smith and Anthony Garcia went 1 for 3 and Dawson Ohligschlager was 1 for 2.
“Anacortes could make a run deep into the postseason,” Lynden coach Cory White said in a phone interview. “They have solid pitching, good defense, and they swung the bat better than any team we’ve seen this year. We played on our heels. We’re a young team and they’re a veteran team. I hope we can learn from things they did well and use that into next year to become a better team.”
White complemented his starter, Rylan Severson, who he said threw strikes and made the Seahawks hit the ball.
Lynden plays next at noon, Saturday, May 2, at North Kitsap in a nonconference game.
