Morgan Henry hit a grand slam to lead Sehome’s softball team to an 11-1 victory against Meridian on Tuesday, April 28, at Meridian High School.
The Mariners were only able to get two hits in the game. Meridian walked nine batters and hit three batters and Sehome took advantage.
“Our defense played pretty well,” Meridian coach Megan Monaghan said in a phone interview. “We need to get the bats involved and string our hits together.”
Maddy Bryan went 1 for 3 with a double for Sehome. Keana Waugh went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Bailey Haugen went 2 for 2 to lead the Trojans at the plate.
Sehome will take on Lynden Christian next at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at home. Meridian plays Lynden Christian next at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at home.
