Lummi’s baseball team exploded for 15 runs in the first inning and scored six more in the fifth to take a 23-3 win over Muckleshoot Tribal in five innings on Wednesday, March 18, at Muckleshoot Tribal.
Kavarez Lane was 3 for 4 with three stolen bases to lead the Blackhawks and Deshawn Lawrence was also 3 for 4 with two stolen bases.
“We were real aggressive at the plate and guys were putting the bat on the ball,” Lummi coach Jim Sandusky said in a phone interview. “We did well defensively, and Hank (Hoskins), Kavarez and Jonathan Casimir pitched well today.”
Hoskins took the win on the mound. Casimir was a force on offense, too, going 2 for 4 with a double.
