Sehome’s baseball team used an eight-run fourth inning en route to its 19-0 victory over Mount Baker on Tuesday, March 17, at Mount Baker High School.
Leif Anderson earned his first win of the season for Sehome (1-0 overall) and Colton Ranson received the loss for Mount Baker (0-1 overall).
The Mariners’ Cameron Tipton went 1 for 2, scoring two runs and knocking in another two. Kealohi Grondin knocked in five runs on two hits and Jake Albert finished 2 for 4, scoring two runs with three RBI.
Mount Baker struggled in the field throughout the game, walking 10 batters and giving up 11 hits.

“Our pitchers have to be more consistent and got to find a way to throw more strikes,” Mount Baker coach Derek Johnson said in a phone interview. “I was impressed with Thomas Barbo defensively. He made good plays for us in the outfield.”
Mount Baker takes on Meridian next at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 19, on the road. Sehome will play Niwot next at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 20, at Mesa View.
