For the second time in a week, Sehome’s starting pitcher threw a complete game while allowing only one hit as the Mariners earned an 11-0 Northwest Conference win over Lakewood on Thursday at Lakewood High School.
After rallying to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, Squalicum baseball lost a “heart breaker” to Ferndale as the Golden Eagles scored four runs in the top of the seventh to earn a 7-5 Northwest Conference win Wednesday at Joe Martin Field.
Trevin Hope was masterful with 71 strikes and only 28 balls, with no walks, in unbeaten Lynden’s 4-3 Northwest Conference win over Sehome in a match-up of Class 2A state tournament hopefuls Monday at Joe Martin Field.
The Lynden baseball team was ranked atop the Class 2A state rankings when washingtonbaseballpoll.com released its initial poll of 2017 on Monday, but the Lions weren’t the only Whatcom County team to receive a high ranking.
