Sehome’s Jordyn Correll placed fourth with a score of 9.175 in the uneven bars event on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the WIAA State Finals.
Sehome placed eighth overall as a team.
Correll was the one of five Sehome and Bellingham freshman athletes who attended the state meet.
“It was fantastic,” coach Stephanie Mullins said in a phone interview. “They trained really hard and for being in a new competition environment, they really performed well.”
Never miss a local story.
Sehome, Bellingham and Squalicum gymnasts train together throughout the year and are excited to begin focusing on next year’s competitions, Mullins said.
