Hannah Rusnak won three events to lead Lynden Christian’s girls’ track and field team in an invitational Thursday, May 7, at Civic Stadium.
Rusnak won the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.08 seconds, ran the third leg of the Lyncs’ winning 4x400 relay team (50.71) and won the long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 3.25 inches.
The Lyncs’ 4x400 relay team of Sara Dougan, Madison Weg, Brandy Bruneau and Brianna Bruneau ran a winning time of 4:21.20.
Squalicum’s Jessica DeVere won the 100 with a time of 13.11 and ran the anchor leg of the Storm’s winning 4x100 relay team’s time of 50.71. Kirsten Webber won the pole vault with a mark of 13 feet and Lauren Kurtz had a winning mark of 32-04 in the triple jump.
Haley VanderHeiden led Nooksack Valley in the field events with wins in the shot put (33-08.75) and discus (106-07).
Squalicum, Lynden Christian and Nooksack Valley will all compete next at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, in the Class 2A Sub-District meet at Civic Stadium.
