A pair of Lynden Christian boys’ track and field athletes won two events to highlight a Northwest Conferences boys’ track and field meet on Thursday, May 7, at Civic Stadium.
Stephen Cummins won the 200 for the Lyncs with a time of 23.69 seconds, and the triple jump with a distance of 40 feet, 9.5 inches. Cummins was also on LC’s winning 4x100 relay team.
His teammate, Jack Vander Griend, won the 110 hurdles with a 16.70, and the high jump with a 5-06.00.
Nooksack Valley’s Connor Beard also won a pair of events. He took the 100 with an 11.47, and had a jump of 19-08.00 to win the long jump.
Squalicum’s top performer was Andrew Napier. He won the shot put (45-03.75) and discus (130-08).
