Sydney Gospodinovich nearly swept the throwing events, and Malia Clift also won a pair of individual events to lead the Meridian girls’ track and field team to a 104-35 win over Lynden Christian on Thursday, April 16, at Lynden Christian.
Gospodinovich won the shot put with a distance of 29 feet, 4 inches, and the discus with a distance of 99-07, but had to settle for second place in the javelin.
Clift won the 100 with a time of 14.09 seconds, and took the 300 hurdles with a 57.61.
Lynden Christian’s double event winner was Madison Weg, who took the 200 with a 29.03 and the high jump with a 5-04.00.

Lynden Christian participates in the King’s Invitational on Saturday, April 18, at King’s in Shoreline. Meridian will be at the Eason Invitational the same day at Snohomish High School.
