Emily Pittis broke the school record and the 10-year-old stadium record in the 3,200 to lead Sehome’s girls’ track and field team to an 85.5-63.5 victory against Burlington-Edison on Wednesday, April 15, at Kirkby Field in Burlington-Edison.
“She smashed the stadium record by 18 seconds,” Sehome coach Kevin Ryan said in a phone interview.
Pittis ran a winning mark of 10:51 seconds. The record was previously held by Squalicum’s Bronwyn Crossman, who held it for 10 years.
Chanelle Eddy was a double winner in the throwing events. She threw a mark of 37-10 inches in the shot put and a 110-05 in the discus for the Mariners.
Sehome will compete in the Eason Invitational next at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, on the road.
