Jack Vander Griend won a pair of individual events to lead the Lynden Christian boys’ track and field team in a home invitational on Tuesday, April 14, at Lynden Chrisitan.
Vander Griend won the 110 hurdles with a 16.47-second sprint and the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 10 inches.
Other winners for the Lyncs were Nathan Rusnak in the 100 (11.72), Sam Vander Griend in the 200 (23.80), Terrel Brown in the shot put (41-07.50), Levi Nieuwsma in the javelin (134-00) and Stephen Cummins in the triple jump (39-09.00). The LC 4x100 relay team of Rusnak, Sam Vander Griend, Andrew Vander Mey and David Bladies also earned a win with a 45.65.
Lynden Christian hosts Meridian at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at home.
