Grant Scarlett won a pair of events to lead Lynden’s boys’ track team on Wednesday, April 1, at Civic Stadium against Bellingham, Sehome and Mount Baker.
Scarlett won the javelin with a 136-foot, 9-inch throw, and the triple jump with a distance of 39-09.00. Lynden also had a win in the 200 from Trent Postma in 23.68 seconds. Matthias Zamudio was the other individual running winner for Lynden with a 56.21 in the 400.
Bellingham’s Cade Brown won the 3,200 with a time of 10:15.7 to lead the Red Raiders. Bellingham also had wins form Tanner Aliff in the 110 hurdles (16.32) and Benjamin Doucette (11.45).
Sehome’s Tyler Caseria won the 1,600 with a 4:41.3 and Riley Allsop ran a 2:00.1 800 to lead the Mariners’ runners. Drew Norvell won the shot put with a big 52-08.50, good for the state lead in Class 2A by nearly a foot, according to Athletic.net. Tyler Haggen also won the discus (147-02).

Sehome swept its duals, Lynden beat Mount Baker and Bellingham, and Bellingham topped Mount Baker.
