Bellingham’s Benjamin Doucette, Squalicum’s Joshua Vail, and Sehome’s Kirby Overman and Drew Norvell each won two individual events in a boys’ track and field meet between the three schools on Thursday, March 19, at Civic Stadium.
Norvell threw a 146-foot, 1-inch mark in the discus and had a 52-02.75 in the shot put. Teammate Tyler Haggen also broke 50 feet in the shot put with a 50-04.75 in the team’s first meet. Overman won the 800 with a time of 2 minutes, 5.59 seconds, and was first in the 3,200 with a time of 10:34.3.
“I’m really proud of the all-around team effort for our first meet,” Sehome coach Kevin Ryan said in a phone interview.
Doucette won the 100 with an 11.38 and won the 300 hurdles with a 42.89. He was also part of the winning 4x100 relay team that ran a 44.44.

Vail won the high jump for Squalicum with a 5-04.00, and took first in the long jump with a 20-00.50.
Sehome won both its duals, 84-60 over Bellingham and 102-42 over Squalicum. Bellingham topped Squalicum 88-55
Bellingham’s next meet is Wednesday, March 25, at Lynden Christian, and Squalicum is at Blaine the same day. Sehome hosts a meet with Anacortes, Ferndale and Nooksack Valley at the same time at Civic Stadium.
