Mount Baker’s girls’ wrestling team had five medalists to take third at the Othello Girls’ Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 17, at Othello.
Natalie Smith at 120 pounds and Akemi Schwinden at 235 were the Mountaineers’ two champions.
“Natalie just kept moving. This girl who was fourth in state last year, Natalie dominated her 12-2 in the final,” Mount Baker coach Clyde Blockley said in a phone interview. “Kimmy is getting back to where she was last year. She beat three state placers to win the tournament.”
Mount Baker also got third place finishes from Korbyn Cadle (115 pounds), Rachel Nichols (145) and Aniecea Camacho (155).

Pasco took first at the invitational with 144 points, and Warden was second with 137.
