Sehome’s girls’ bowling team defeated Bush 3-0 and Squalicum’s girls’ bowling was able to grab a win against top-ranked Everett in its 2-1 defeat Thursday, Jan. 8, at Strawberry Lanes.
The Mariners’ bowled 578 in the first game, 656 in the second and 640 in the third game. Setting a new best team score for the season.
“It was a solid team effort. Every single person was consistent. As a team they bowled their best game yet,” Sehome and Squalicum coach Erin Furda said in a phone interview.
The Storm bowled 600 in the first game, 658 in the second and a winning score of 687 in the third game.

“The third game made the whole match feel like a win. It was a really fun match,” Furda said. “We were really excited about that game because Everett is a good team.”
Squalicum’s Bobbie Cowgill bowled a personal best 164 in the third game and Jasmine Mendoza bowled a personal-best 102. Cortney Coppinger bowled a 207 in the third game, tying her personal best.
Sehome and Squalicum will face off next at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 20th Century Bowling.
