Mount Baker’s boys’ wrestling team wrestled with more initiative and aggressiveness in its match against Burlington-Edison, but fell victim to a 51-16 defeat on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Burlington-Edison High School.
The Mountaineers’ William Casados pinned his opponent in the 132 weight class, Jeremiah Cronk defeated his opponent 13-2 in the 145 weight class and JT Keeney defeated his opponent in the 195 weight class due to an injury default.
“All of our kids wrestled with more initiative and aggressiveness than they have been,” Mount Baker coach Roger Goodwin said in a phone interview. “William wrestled aggressively. Jeremiah did a good job controlling the whole match, Keeney got the first takedown in his match but Fleury injured his knee and wasn’t able to continue unfortunately.”
Mount Baker travels to Sultan next at 10 a.m. for the Sky Valley Invitational at Sultan High School.
